Dates
VoltHacks 2026 will open at the end of May and close during early September. All projects must be submitted before the official deadline listed on Devpost.
Late submissions may not be considered for judging.
Organizers reserve the right to modify event dates, deadlines, prizes, or rules if necessary.
Eligibility
VoltHacks is open to participants ages 13 and older worldwide. Participants may compete individually or in teams.
All skill levels are welcome, including beginners.
By participating, entrants confirm that they have the right to submit their projects and that their submissions do not violate any applicable laws or third-party rights.
Project and Submission Requirements
Projects must be created during the hackathon period. Existing projects may not be submitted unless significant new development is completed during the event.
Submissions must include:
- A project description
- Demo video or presentation
- Photos/screenshots of the project
- Source code or GitHub repository (if applicable)
Participants may use open-source libraries, APIs, and frameworks, but plagiarism or directly copying existing projects is not allowed.
All submissions must remain appropriate and respectful. Projects containing harmful, offensive, illegal, or unsafe content may be disqualified at the discretion of the organizers.
Participants retain ownership of their projects. By submitting a project, participants grant VoltHacks permission to showcase submitted projects, images, videos, and descriptions for promotional and judging purposes related to the event.
Prizes
Grand Prize:
- $100 USD cash prize awarded to 1 winner
Dialogate Lifetime Subscription Awards:
- 5 selected projects will receive lifetime subscriptions to Dialogate
The listed cash value for the Dialogate subscriptions represents the estimated value of the subscription itself and is NOT a direct cash payout. No cash alternative or cash substitution will be provided for these awards.
Organizers reserve the right to substitute, modify, or cancel prizes if circumstances require.
Judging and Winner Selection
Projects will be evaluated based on:
- Innovation & Creativity
- Technical Complexity
- Real-World Impact
- Design & Functionality
- Presentation Quality
All judging decisions are final.
VoltHacks organizers reserve the right to disqualify submissions that violate the rules, contain inappropriate content, or are determined to be fraudulent or plagiarized.
Liability
VoltHacks and its organizers are not responsible for:
- Technical issues, submission failures, or platform outages
- Lost, incomplete, or corrupted submissions
- Any damages, losses, or disputes arising from participation in the event
Participation in VoltHacks is voluntary and at the participant’s own risk.
